    i. Notice of Types of Personal Data We Collect and How We Collect It
    This notice covers personal data that KnowledgeLake collects through your use of KnowledgeLake web sites and in connection with off-line communications. The personal data that we collect may vary based on the interaction by the individual customer or visitor with our website and requests for our services. As a general matter, KnowledgeLake collects the following types of personal data from its individual customers or visitors: names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses and any other data that can be linked to an individual. Personal data does not include data that is encoded, anonymized, aggregated or publicly available data that has not been combined with non-public personal data.

    Customers and Visitors: KnowledgeLake information is readily available without registration. However, if you have questions for a KnowledgeLake representative or request a quote, we request your personal data so that we can respond directly to your inquiry. We may also use this data to analyze who is visiting our web site and how it is being used. This enables us to respond more effectively to potential customers.

    When you place an order with KnowledgeLake, we may contact you to introduce ourselves and to ask if we may be of assistance. And, unless you unsubscribe, we may send you electronic newsletters, industry updates, product and application updates, invitations to trade shows, invitations to participate in customer surveys, and special KnowledgeLake promotions and offers.

    If you are applying for a position at KnowledgeLake, we will collect and use your personal data for recruitment purposes - in particular, to determine your qualifications for employment and to reach a hiring decision. This includes assessing your skills, qualifications and background for a particular role, verifying your information, carrying out reference checks or background checks (where applicable) and generally managing the hiring process and communicating with you about it. Certain background and reference information may be collected from recruitment agencies, academic institutions, referees and other third parties during your recruitment. If you are hired at KnowledgeLake, the data collected during the recruitment process will form part of your ongoing staff member record. If you are not chosen for a position, we may still keep your CV/application to allow us to consider you for other suitable openings within KnowledgeLake in the future. KnowledgeLake may retain CVs and applications for up to two years after inactivity.

    KnowledgeLake may also gather personal data via third parties, including but not limited to, recruiting agencies, lead capture services and social media providers.

    As a visitor to our website(s), we may collect common data from web browsing sessions for the purposes of troubleshooting or preventing fraud. This includes, but is not limited to: computer IP address, usernames (if required for authentication), and user-agent strings. This data will be kept for a period of one year unless additional time is required by regulation.

    Sensitive data (e.g. medical or health condition) will not be requested or received from our websites.

    Cookies and similar tracking technology

    We use cookies and similar tracking technology (collectively, "Cookies") to collect and use personal data about you, including to serve interest-based advertising.

    Legal basis for processing personal data (EEA visitors only)

    If you are a customer or visitor from the European Economic Area, our legal basis for collecting and using the personal data described above will depend on the personal data concerned and the specific context in which we collect it.

    However, we will normally collect personal data from you only (i) where we need the personal data to perform a contract with you, (ii) where the processing is in our legitimate interests and not overridden by your rights, or (iii) where we have your consent to do so. In some cases, we may also have a legal obligation to collect personal data from you or may otherwise need the personal data to protect your vital interests or those of another person.

    If we ask you to provide personal data to comply with a legal requirement or to perform a contact with you, we will make this clear at the relevant time and advise you whether the provision of your personal data is mandatory or not (as well as of the possible consequences if you do not provide your personal data).

    If we collect and use your personal data in reliance on our legitimate interests (or those of any third party), this interest will normally be to operate our platform and communicating with you as necessary to provide our services to you and for our legitimate commercial interest, for instance, when responding to your queries, improving our platform, undertaking marketing, or for the purposes of detecting or preventing illegal activities. We may have other legitimate interests and if appropriate we will make clear to you at the relevant time what those legitimate interests are.

    ii. Choice
    KnowledgeLake does not require customers or visitors to its web site to provide KnowledgeLake with personal data. The decision to provide personal data is yours. If you do not wish to provide the personal data requested, however, you may not be permitted to proceed with the activity or receive the benefit for which the personal data is requested.

    If the company intends to use personal data submitted by individuals for reasons that are not consistent with the above, the affected individual will be given the opportunity to opt-out of that use or transfer.

    iii. Onward Transfer
    Your personal data may be transferred to, or processed in, countries other than the country in which you are resident. These countries may have data protection laws that are different to the laws of your country and, in some cases, may not be as protective.

    Specifically, our Website servers are located in the United States, and our group companies and third party service providers and partners operate around the world. This means that when we collect your personal data we may process it in any of these countries.

    However, we have taken appropriate safeguards to require that your personal data will remain protected in accordance with this Privacy Notice. We may also need to transfer personal data to other third parties.

    For example:

    • when requested by any competent law enforcement body, regulatory or government agency, court or other third party (i) as a matter of applicable law or regulation, (ii) to meet national security requirements, (iii) to exercise, establish or defend our legal rights, or (iv) to protect your vital interests or those of any other person;

    If KnowledgeLake engages third parties to which personal data covered by this Privacy Shield Policy will be transferred, KnowledgeLake will be responsible for obtaining appropriate assurances that such third parties have an obligation to conduct themselves in accordance with the applicable provisions of Privacy Shield Policy and of the Privacy Shield framework.

    iv. Data Security
    KnowledgeLake will take reasonable measures to provide personal data with reasonable protection from accidental loss or destruction, improper use, alteration, or disclosure.

    v. Data Integrity

    KnowledgeLake will use personal data only in ways that are compatible with the purposes for which it was collected or subsequently authorized by the individual. KnowledgeLake will take reasonable steps to ensure that personal data is relevant to its intended use, accurate, complete, and current.

    We retain personal data we collect from you where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with a service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements).

    vi. Access and Correction
    Upon request, KnowledgeLake will grant an individual reasonable access to personal data that it holds regarding that individual, as required by law. If an individual becomes aware that data we maintain about him or her is inaccurate, or if an individual would like to update or review his or her personal data, the individual may contact us using contact data listed in section vii below.

    You can unsubscribe from promotional e-mails the following ways: 1) you can follow the instructions at the bottom of the e-mail; or 2) contact your customer service representative. KnowledgeLake will endeavor to respond in a timely manner to all reasonable requests to view, modify, or delete personal data.

    Further data protection rights for European Economic Area residents
    If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, in addition to the above you have the following data protection rights:

    • If you wish to request deletion of your personal data, you can do so at any time by contacting us.
    • In addition, you can object to processing of your personal data, ask us to restrict processing of your personal data or request portability of your personal data. Again, you can exercise these rights by contacting us using the contact details provided below.
    • Similarly, if we have collected and process your personal data with your consent, then you can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal, nor will it affect processing of your personal data conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
    • You have the right to complain to a data protection authority about our collection and use of your personal data. For more data, please contact your local data protection authority.

    vii. Recourse, Enforcement, and Liability

    In compliance with the US-EU Privacy Shield Principles KnowledgeLake commits to resolve complaints about your privacy and our collection or use of your personal data. EU individuals with questions or concerns about the use of their personal data should contact.

    5. Links to Non-KnowledgeLake Websites

    The KnowledgeLake web sites may provide links to non-KnowledgeLake sites we believe may be of interest to you. If you access those links, you will leave the KnowledgeLake web site. KnowledgeLake does not endorse or make any representations about third-party web sites. The personal data you choose to give to third parties is not covered by the KnowledgeLake Privacy Notice. We encourage you to review the privacy notice of any company before submitting your personal data. Some third parties may choose to share their personal data with KnowledgeLake; the sharing of that data is governed by the third party's privacy notice.

    6. Changes to This Notice
    KnowledgeLake may amend this notice if necessary due to business necessity and/or to remain compliant with applicable data protection laws and changes to KnowledgeLake’s processes and such changes will be updated on KnowledgeLake’s website as appropriate.
