KnowledgeLake 2010 Product Suite Leverages the New Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 Platform
KnowledgeLake, Inc., a leading provider of document imaging, capture and workflow solutions for the Microsoft SharePoint Server platform, has announced the latest release of its product suite for Microsoft© SharePoint© Server 2010. Microsoft Corp. launched SharePoint Server 2010 in a separate announcement today.
KnowledgeLake provides an affordable, platform-based solution for managing unstructured content directly within SharePoint Server 2010. KnowledgeLake is an enterprise scalable and comprehensive SharePoint Server 2010 Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution for capturing, indexing, searching, viewing, securing, routing, and annotating mission critical electronic content.
"KnowledgeLake is an experienced partner for scanning and capture for SharePoint Server 2010," said Ryan Duguid, senior product manager on the Enterprise Content Management Team at Microsoft Corp. "They have built their solution entirely on the SharePoint Server platform, providing a consistent user experience and helping organizations drive value from their existing technology investments. KnowledgeLake specializes in scanning and capture, has a deep understanding of the SharePoint Server platform, and has a rich heritage in the ECM industry."
KnowledgeLake is Microsoft's 2009 partner of the year in two categories: Enterprise Content Management and Forms Development, and Independent Software Vendor/Software Solutions.
KnowledgeLake Imaging for SharePoint Features Powerful New Search Center
KnowledgeLake Imaging for SharePoint v4.0 is the cornerstone of the 2010 suite. It features the new KnowledgeLake Search Center that extends the built-in SharePoint Server search capabilities, and uses the latest Microsoft Silverlight technology. KnowledgeLake Imaging has an improved user interface with a tabbed navigation, the ability to display multiple queries in the tabs, and users can now search document text and metadata within a single query.
The KnowledgeLake Search Center also leverages the new SharePoint Server 2010 Business Connectivity Services (BCS) capability. BCS makes it possible to access and use data in applications and databases outside SharePoint Server. Search Center queries can search these sources in addition to other SharePoint content. The KnowledgeLake Search Center also introduces powerful new ways to display query results by grouping and filtering columns, and by supporting the new SharePoint Server document set content type.
KnowledgeLake Document Viewer built with Silverlight 4
The KnowledgeLake Document Viewer contains advanced features such as a find similar search based off document properties and the ability to view multiple documents at once. The viewer also provides the ability to display Document Sets.
"Microsoft has given us a powerful new foundational ECM platform in SharePoint Server 2010 and thanks to our close working relationship with the SharePoint team, we've been able to leverage great new features such as Business Connectivity Services, Document Sets and Robust Records Management and Compliance in products we're announcing concurrently with today's launch of SharePoint Server 2010," says Chris Caplinger, Chief Technology Officer of KnowledgeLake, Inc."Because our products are built within the SharePoint Server platform, rather than as replacements or external add-ons, everything looks, feels and works as a single, reliable, scalable solution, whether you're a SharePoint user or administrator."
Deployment and Administration
Since KnowledgeLake Imaging for SharePoint is built to be an integral part of the SharePoint architecture, it installs as a SharePoint solution deployment package. An administrator can install it on a single server and configure it from SharePoint Central Administration. Then configuration settings automatically replicate to all farm Web servers.
KnowledgeLake Capture and Connect are SharePoint Server 2010 Ready
The capture components of the KnowledgeLake product suite have been updated to take advantage of the new features in SharePoint Server 2010, such as Managed Metadata, Business Connectivity Services (BCS) and list validations. However, all KnowledgeLake products will maintain their full features and functionality whether installed within Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 or SharePoint Server 2010.
A Comprehensive ECM Solution
Since 2003, KnowledgeLake has been solely focused on helping companies lower their operating costs by leveraging SharePoint Server, a platform for ECM solutions. The new KnowledgeLake 2010 product suite continues this focus.
"Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 will continue to dominate the ECM industry,"says Ron Cameron, President and co-founder of KnowledgeLake, Inc."And the KnowledgeLake SharePoint Server 2010 products will continue to push the envelope on cost savings and benefits when compared to other legacy ECM solutions. Our solution is very affordable, highly relevant, and very capable of replacing many of the legacy ECM applications that devour corporate IT budgets. We have deep experience and have learned the best practices necessary to design and deploy large scale SharePoint ECM solutions for any size organization and for many different business applications."
The KnowledgeLake SharePoint Server 2010 Suite will ship in the second quarter of 2010. For more information, visit www.knowledgelake.com.
