The Ariens Company manufactures outdoor power equipment made for consumers and professionals. Their finely crafted machines can be found globally within a large network of power equipment dealers, farm retailers and national retailers. When the privately-owned and operated company needed a unified ECM solution that could accommodate different business units and brands, they turned to KnowledgeLake.

The Challenges

Due to the high volume of incoming and outgoing accounts receivables and accounts payables, the international company realized a need for a consistent processing procedure while reducing related costs.

The family-owned company, now in its fourth-generation, also sought to streamline many of their existing internal processes to enable collaboration between various departments.

Since Ariens Company’s employees tend to be Microsoft users, the company wanted solutions to complement their SharePoint and Dynamics AX platforms.

Our Solution

Building upon resources already in place, Ariens Company deployed KnowledgeLake’s document imaging solution within their Ariens Company Specialty Brands’ (AW Direct, Gemplers and Ben Meadows) Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Department. These brands incorporated KnowledgeLake’s document capture solution and were able to quickly convert high volumes of paper documents into digital format to be centralized and imported from multiple, remote locations – enabling off-hours batch processing with minimal manual effort.

With the technology to encourage business process consistency and repeatable outcomes, the organization expanded the practice to include customer statements, technical documentation and its Customer Service Department quotes.

With more than 5 million documents stored digitally, KnowledgeLake migrated over 15 different document types from previous document repositories. Images from other legacy ECM platforms were also migrated to SharePoint.
