If you live in the St. Louis area and haven’t experienced food truck favorites Vincent Van Donuts, Zia’s, Cheese Shack Food Truck, 2 Girls 4 Wheels, or Seoul Taco, this Thursday will be your lucky day! Stop by Food Trucks for a Cause at the front of 6 CityPlace, in Creve Coeur, between 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. on August 17 to enjoy some delicious treats while supporting a fantastic cause.
These generous four-wheeled eateries will contribute a portion of Thursday’s proceeds to assist #KLCares in raising funds for Pedal the Cause. Founded in 2010, Pedal the Cause is an annual cycling challenge that gives 100% of the public’s donations to fund world-class cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
On September 23 and 24, many of us K-Lakers will be riding our bicycles or volunteering in other ways at the St. Louis event. We, at KnowledgeLake, have a very strong tie to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, as a K-Laker’s son, Liam Goble, has, and is, being treated at their facility for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This year, we’re riding in honor of Liam.
Help us support Team Liam!
So far, we’ve raised around $400 as part of our first initiative to support Team Liam. K-Lakers participated in a game of Penny Wars. We separated the office into three teams. The mission was to get the most points. Pennies counted as one point while any other coins or dollar bills counted for negative what their monetary worth was (so $5 is -500 points and a quarter is -25 points). Individuals were allowed to put money into which ever buckets they wanted — they could add pennies in their own team’s bucket and dollars in other buckets.
