During October, KnowledgeLake launched #KLCares, a corporate initiative designed to make a positive impact in the world through community outreach efforts by members of the KnowledgeLake team.
Last weekend, a number of K-Lakers met at the St. Louis County Pet Adoption Center to kick off the first #KLCares event. The adoption center, located in Olivette, MO, is dedicated to creating a safe environment for people and pets. The team spent about four hours at the center, performing duties to assist the staff.
Once there, K-Lakers happily busied themselves by playing with cats, walking dogs, washing dirty food bowls, then folding blankets and towels. Some volunteers even made small cat beds and toys.
The highlights of the day included witnessing two dogs find their “forever homes” while a lost dog was reunited with his owners. Moose, the first dog adopted that day, was definitely a KnowledgeLake favorite and happily posed with the team in a group photo!
Kayla Wesloh, the K-Laker behind #KLCares, proudly stated, “Our first volunteer event was a great success. Seeing everyone take time out of their Saturday to help take care of homeless animals and have fun while doing it was awesome. We can’t wait for the next chance to serve our community.”
#KLCares volunteer opportunities offer the KnowledgeLake team a way to make a meaningful contribution toward making the world a better place. The group is eagerly awaiting a visit to St. Louis Crisis Nursery on December 3rd.
