Awards Based on Customer Feedback Tell the Real Story

By Ron Cameron on November 30, 2020

It feels like tech industry awards are everywhere. Every day you see the Top Ten this, the Best Five that, and so on. So many of these are around that I think you have to question the real value of them, short of being a nice pat on the back for the companies and individuals in the lists.

However, there is one exception to this, which are awards based on real customer feedback. Nobody has their finger on the pulse quite like end-users. Heck, they are the pulse. These are the people buying and using technology solutions. Who better to determine the winners and losers in any given marketplace than this group?

This is why the recent distinction KnowledgeLake received as the winner of the 2020 KMWorld Readers’ Choice Award for Document Management means so much to our organization. KnowledgeLake also was named a finalist in three other categories: Collaboration, Content Management and Business Process Management.

Many of you know the KnowledgeLake story. We have been around for more than 20 years, working to help our customers process their documents and information as quickly, efficiently, and accurately as possible. The distinction of being included with well-known brands such as Pega and Kofax for business process management shows just how much the document management game is evolving. The automated processing of repetitive, high-touch critical business documents—from invoices to purchase orders to HR and financial records—is our customers’ future, and we’re making it happen.

We have seen the industry terminology and nomenclature used to describe our segment evolve from document management, to enterprise content management, to content services platforms. One thing has remained constant during this time span: our unwavering focus on supporting our customers.

It may sound obvious that we wouldn’t be here without our customers, but it is entirely true. We work closely with our customers and partners to understand their everyday challenges, and from that, we build our software to provide maximum value to them. Then we go through the process again, and again, and again.

Our clients value a long-term, symbiotic relationship that can only develop over time. This is why we are so proud to be a recipient of the 2020 KMWorld Readers’ Choice Award. To be recognized by the group of people that really matter to us is incredibly humbling and rewarding.

We know that 2020 will go down in history as one of the most disruptive and challenging years in modern history. Many of us have experienced professional and personal adversity this year. We hope our customers, partners, friends, and community members stay safe, and we’re looking forward to a better and brighter 2021 for everyone.
