New and enhanced Microsoft Office SharePoint 2007 Enterprise Content Management (ECM) features fall within three areas:

Document management – Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 delivers enhanced authoring, business document processing, Web content management and publishing, records management, policy management, and support for multilingual publishing.
Records management – a new set of features for creating and supporting formal records management capabilities including policy and auditing, records repository, e-mail content as records and mail management policies.
Web content management - Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 functionality is now completely integrated with Microsoft Office SharePoint 2007. Other new and enhanced features include new enterprise portal templates and corporate internet site presence, application portal site templates, roll-up portal site templates, and enhanced site modeling, authoring and approval, Web Publishing and Deployment and WYSIWYG Web Content Editor.
