Thank you for subscribing to the KnowledgeLake Quarterly Newsletter. We appreciate the opportunity to reach out once each quarter with an update on KnowledgeLake and the latest news in the rapidly changing ECM marketplace.
2005 was another tremendous year for KnowledgeLake as our revenues nearly doubled for the third consecutive year. Beyond our individual success, though, we saw the beginning of something far greater – a paradigm shift in Enterprise Content Management. With Microsoft’s official entrance into the market, ECM has begun shifting from application based technology to platform based technology. This shift will dramatically change the size and scope of the market potential. ECM will now be affordable and practical for companies of all sizes and industries, improving productivity and saving money.
For those of us who have been in this marketplace for 20+ years, this is a revolutionary time. We have never seen a transformation and a growth potential this significant. As ECM continues to move towards the forefront of Microsoft’s agenda, KnowledgeLake looks forward to being your leading provider of Microsoft-based ECM solutions.
Sincerely,
Ron Cameron

“Converting ideas into value”, Data2 is a provider of innovative identification (variable data content barcode labels and RFID) and bonding (rotary and flatbed die-cut parts) solutions primarily to the Electronics, Healthcare, Retail Jewelry, Automotive and Library markets. Data2 Corporation is a manufacturing company located in St. Peters, Missouri.
Data2 quickly recognized that the KnowledgeLake solution would leverage its SharePoint investment, allow its team to work with an amiable, flexible KnowledgeLake staff, and meet its budget requirements. Data2 deployed SharePoint to integrate KnowledgeLake Capture, Imaging and Workflow solutions with its new Great Plains investment.
Before implementing the KnowledgeLake solution, Data 2’s Accounts Payable Department was over-loaded with invoices, purchase orders, and shipping and receiving documents. The manual processing of these documents was reducing employee productivity due to the time spent repeating tasks, awaiting internal approvals, re-creating lost documents and locating misfiled documents.
“Even though the technology has been in place for only four months, Data2 is experiencing great productivity enhancements” Michael Borgna, VP, CFO, Data2, stated. “Besides saving significant amounts of time over manually archiving and researching historical documentation, we are able to close out our Account Payable module within the first day of our month end closing process.”
Data2 is able to access archived documentation by ‘drilling down’ to SharePoint while within Great Plains. With a branch location in California, efficiency is very evident with instant electronic communication and ease of transaction approval. Additionally, Data2 no longer has to maintain offsite storage for all of its documents.
Data2 is looking forward to upcoming opportunities this year with KnowledgeLake Workflow and archival for several new areas around customer purchase orders, customer quotations, internal purchase requisition, manufacturing/ travel document indexing, etc.
